Age-related Macular Degeneration

Illustrations created for patient-education brochures for Auckland Eye

Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

The problem:

How can we explain the the difference between a normal macula and one affected by wet macular degeneration in a way that patients can understand?

The solution:

I rendered simplified microscopic views of both a normal macula and one affected by macular degeneration. By showing the structure in context with the relevant anatomical plane of the face and eye, I have created a more complete picture of the structures for the patient to understand.
